6. Global Trends (Programming, Streaming, Online, Social, or Gaming)

So when trying to come up with a topic for this certain assignment about what is trending in the world today, I thought more along the lines of what was new and getting its number up in the media. It took me some time, but eventually I started to get my gears turning. What was popular before then had a downfall, but has come right back to the trending section of social media? Fortnite! Yes the game that you see little kids beg their mom and dads for more money to buy whatever is new in the game has come back to life and has even gotten to people like me who thought he would never play that game again. 

After a little bit of convincing from some of my good friends, I finally succumb to the pressure and downloaded the game that I had not played since it basically was at its peak in 2019. I guess you could say that I was not the biggest fan of the game back in the day because I was never good at it, but we don't have to talk about that.

I myself am not the only person who has recently started to enjoy the game again after it kind of having a downfall for a couple years. Streamers and Youtubers like IAmWildcat, Ninja, and so many more have recently shown a liking to the global impacting game. 

Why did I delete the game before?

Some people have made a "vow" in their hearts that they will never spend money on the game ever, but those people (me) have even got suckered into paying for stuff in a video game. With the release of a certain character that has been loved by nearly all superhero nerds; Fortnite made Spider-man an achievable character on this seasons battle pass. What is the battle pass? The battle pass is basically just a way to unlock a whole lot of character skins, weapon patterns, gliders, and other decorative items that you can use in-game. Now how do you get the battle pass? Easy. Pull out your debit/credit card and pay the $10 to get it. That has always been my line with Fortnite and it is the reason why I deleted it years back, but that was when the characters in the game were not extremely popular characters like Spider-man (and I also never had a job and my mom or dad would not pay for it). 

What has helped Fortnite become trending again?

What really boosts something's popularity? Popular people. What people are very popular? Celebrities! Yes Fortnite has become so popular that top of the line celebrities have wanted to be a part of the game. The latest one that comes to mind is Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Ya that 'The Rock'. In the Fortnite trailer before you would have seen something about The Foundation. Notice how he has a helmet on. Well when he takes that helmet off, you see a quite familiar face. 

When I redownloaded the game I had no intention of becoming too into it and get drawn into being competitive. Sadly I did not keep that same mentality up after I kept playing with my friends and kept winning.
